Buckwheat was to a century ago a much used food source. Buckwheat is similar to grain but is is no grain but a flower. The buckwheat plant is related to rhubarb, swine grass and dandelions. The composition of buckwheat is very similar to that of grain and has a good useable protein composition. Unlike cereals it is the gluten-free. This is an outcome for babies early in their lives and for allergy sufferers who cannot tolerate gluten.
